Relocation guide

making theBig Move

Whether you're moving to Dallas–Fort Worth or heading somewhere new, a relocation has a lot of moving parts. I'm relocation-certified and have guided many families through long-distance moves, often from start to finish without them ever needing to fly in.

Two directions, one plan

Coming to DFW? I'll help you find the right home from wherever you are. Leaving? I'll sell your home here and connect you with a trusted agent in your new city.

Moving to DFW

welcome toNorth Texas

The Dallas–Fort Worth area is huge, and where you land shapes your commute, schools, taxes, and lifestyle. Here's how I help buyers coming from out of town.

Narrow it down first

We'll start with your commute, budget, schools, and must-haves, then shortlist a few areas. My Fort Worth neighborhood guide and area guides are a good place to start.

Buy from anywhere

Live video tours, detailed notes on every home, and an honest read on the street and neighborhood, so you can make a confident offer before you fly in.

Remote closings

Many closings can be signed with a mobile notary wherever you are. I'll coordinate the title company, lender, inspections, and key handoff.

Texas surprises

No state income tax, higher property taxes, hail-driven insurance, and the option period. I'll explain how it all works before you write an offer.

Bridge housing

If timing doesn't line up, I can help you think through a short-term rental, a lease, or a temporary stay while you shop.

Settling in

Your first-90-days checklist: Texas driver's license, vehicle registration, homestead exemption, electricity provider, and schools. It's in my Fort Worth guide.

Leaving DFW

selling fromOut of State

Moving for a new job or a new chapter? I'll get your home sold here while you focus on what's next, and help you find a great agent wherever you're headed.

Sell before or after you move

Some sellers list while they're still here; others move first and sell a vacant home. We'll weigh the costs, timing, and how each option affects your next purchase.

Vacant homes, done right

Empty homes can feel cold online. Light staging, great photos, and a well-maintained property keep buyers interested. I'll check on the house and coordinate vendors.

A referral you can trust

Through the Sotheby's International Realty network and my agent relationships, I'll connect you with a trusted agent in your new city, so you're in good hands on both ends.

Remote everything

Digital signatures, video walkthroughs with buyers' agents, and remote or mail-away closing. You don't need to fly back to sell.

Employer relocation packages

If your company offers relocation benefits, the rules matter. Some packages include a buyout or a guaranteed offer, others a lump sum. Talk to me before you list so we follow your policy.

Know your numbers

I'll put together a net sheet showing what you'll walk away with, so you can plan your next down payment with confidence. Curious now? Get your home value.
