The big picture

why peopleChoose Aledo

The City of Aledo itself is small, with roughly 7,000 residents, but "Aledo" to most people means the whole area served by Aledo ISD. That includes much of Willow Park, the Annettas, and the Walsh community on Fort Worth's far west side.

The draw is the combination: highly rated schools, a tight-knit community built around Bearcat athletics, and land. You can find everything from homes on acreage with room for horses to master-planned neighborhoods with pools and trails.

It's growing fast, so new schools, shopping, and roads are coming online every year. Hudson Oaks and Weatherford are close for shopping and dining, and Fort Worth's Cultural District is about a half-hour drive.

What to know

before youBuy in Aledo

Verify school zoning

Aledo ISD crosses city lines, and nearby addresses can be zoned to different districts or campuses. I'll confirm zoning for any home you're serious about.

Property taxes vary a lot

Your rate depends on the city, county, school district, and whether the neighborhood has a MUD or PID. Two homes a mile apart can have very different tax bills.

Acreage comes with extras

Many homes outside city limits use a water well and septic system. We'll add inspections for both during your option period.

HOA or no HOA

Some buyers want amenities and rules, and some want freedom for a shop, RV, or livestock. Restrictions vary widely, so we'll read them before you commit.

The commute

I-20 and I-30 connect Aledo to Fort Worth. Plan on about 25 to 35 minutes to downtown outside rush hour, and longer to DFW Airport.

Weather and insurance

Like the rest of North Texas, spring hail and wind are a fact of life. Get insurance quotes early, and ask about a roof's age and condition.

New in Aledo

coming soonBluejack Ranch

The biggest news in Aledo is Bluejack Ranch (you'll also see it searched as Blue Jack Ranch), a gated, private club community on roughly 900 acres just outside Aledo's city limits. Its centerpiece is a championship golf course designed by Tiger Woods, plus a 10-hole par-three course.

Plans also call for a clubhouse and restaurant, spa and fitness facilities, racquet and pool amenities, and room for horses. It comes from the developers of Bluejack National near Houston, and the golf course is slated to open in 2026.
